Branding Project:
CREATIVE SPACE
Established in 2018, Creative Space is an art studio located on N. Main Street in Corktown. The founders, Jenny and her husband, Jerry, are both graduates of Imaginary University where they studied art concept and execution. Jenny and Jerry both had a passion for art and wanted to allow the community to have a place to let their imaginations grow and creativity shine. Creative Place has the materials and mechanics to produce quality art for all ages and experience levels.
Jenny and Jerry know that learning new art skills is not always affordable, so they offer membership payment plans and scholarships to low-income based families and individuals.
From art classes, independent studio time, events, and weekly showcases, there is always room, for everyone, at this Creative Space.
Overview of Logo
The Creative Space logo not only represents the name of the brand, but also the essence of the company. "We are the stars of our own galaxy," as Jenny would say.

Incorporating the title of the brand was necessary, as Jenny and Jerry communicated that the logo should be descriptive. Painting is one of the most popular activities offered at Creative Space so it was necessary to implement the paint brush into their logo.

The circle behind the tilted paintbrush should mimic a planet; the small shadowed crest was added for dimension. The stars match the paint on the paintbrush to allow the audience to make the connection clearly.

Overview of Logo Usage
The Creative Place logo should only be used in accordance to company guidelines. Without specific permission, the logo design should not be compromised or changed in any manner.

The logo may be printed or used in black and white, but otherwise should be printed and used with the selected colors.

The following image would serve as an example of logo distortion that is a direct violation of Creative Space guidelines.
Overview of client color set
The Creative Space logo uses tints of two primary colors to encompass the desired effect. A light pink is used as the primary color and background for the piece to promote Creative Space as a place that encourages calmness and vulnerability.

The paintbrush on the piece uses brown colors, specifically to replicate a realistic paintbrush.

The use of blue as a secondary color allows the audience to have a welcoming feel when it comes to the brand. The accent color is black to contrast with the light colors used in the piece, allowing the tinted hues to stand out.
Overview of client font set
This font was chosen to highlight to whimsical energy given off by the brand. Euphorigenic Regular offered a readable cursive font that appeared to be elegant yet fun. For the use of the logo, the font was altered slightly to adhere to the proposed design. The audience should appeal to the text since it can be applied to a variety of demographics.

Sources of Inspiration

This mock design was important to the design process. The paintbrush used in the logo was important to Creative Space since that is there most popular service. The use of shadow in the design inspired the use of tints and shades within the logo.

This Shutterstock photo inspired the planet figure in the Creative Space logo. Creating a logo for a company with the word "space" ultimately inspired an outer-space vibe. Although the logo is not as minimalistic as this design, it still holds the bold black outlines.

The primary inspiration for the Creative Space logo was this mock logo that was found online. The use of stars and a drawing utensil in the shape of a rocket ship, going around a planet. This mock design spoke "creativity is everywhere," which became the goal when producing a similar piece.
